Following our review of the scheme, and in response to comments received from the Council’s Planning and Conservation Officer, we are proposing a number of enhancements to the submitted layout and design.
These updates aim to further improve the overall appearance of the development and strengthen its integration within the surrounding area.

The proposals would still deliver a new Lidl store in a sustainable location, bringing more shopping choice and new jobs locally. The plans include:
A new Lidl store with a 1,222 sq m net sales area, including modern in-store facilities like Lidl’s renowned in-store bakery, Middle of Lidl aisles and facilities such as customer toilets with baby changing facilities
97 car parking spaces including six accessible spaces, seven parent and child spaces and two Rapid Electric Vehicle charging spaces. The plans also include 36 bicycle spaces.
Around 40 jobs for local people. Lidl’s starting hourly rate is £13.45, raising to £14 with length of service
Significant landscaping including tree planting across the site
A bespoke store, designed to fit in with its surroundings
Improved accessibility for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists with new pedestrian/cycle routes
Enhanced environmental features including solar panels on the roof
